What We Heard
Senior living should feel like home—but too often, it feels institutional. MeSun needed to create a community where residents could maintain independence, feel a sense of belonging, and experience daily life with comfort, dignity, and ease.

We heard the importance of designing for both physical and cognitive needs—supporting safety, clarity, and well-being—while also creating spaces that feel warm, familiar, and connected to community.

What We Designed
We designed a two-story assisted living and memory care community that blends performance with a deeply residential feel.

The 80,000+ SF community is organized to support both independence and connection, offering a range of amenities that enhance daily life—from café and dining spaces to activity rooms, wellness areas, and a private theater.

Key design moves focused on both experience and function:

• Distinct neighborhoods for assisted living and memory care, each with dedicated courtyards featuring walking paths, gathering spaces, and outdoor amenities
• Light-filled residences with expansive windows and elevated ceiling heights to create openness and comfort
• Thoughtful wayfinding and environmental cues to support residents with cognitive challenges
• Warm, durable materials that balance safety, maintenance, and a homelike atmosphere

Behind the scenes, advanced systems support comfort and resilience:

• High-performance HVAC systems, including Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) in memory care, to enhance air quality and reduce noise
• Backup power systems to ensure continuity of care
• Enhanced building envelope and energy-efficient systems for long-term performance

Every decision was made to quietly support the experience—without overwhelming it.

What It Changed
The result is a senior living community that feels both supportive and empowering.

Residents experience a greater sense of independence within a safe, thoughtfully designed environment. Families feel confident in the level of care and comfort provided. Staff benefits from a setting that supports both care delivery and daily operations.
